Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MADEP)  Petition

The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MADEP) has not updated its guidance on the use of innovative manufactured treatment devices (MTDs) for stormwater management since they published the MA Stormwater Handbook in 2008.

MADEPs current guidance no longer provides a viable pathway for general MTD acceptance nor does it align with the water quality/treatment goals established by the current MS4 permit for MA, so updated guidance is urgently needed.

We ask you to read and sign this petition that summarizes the issues and presents MADEP with viable options to provide a clear pathway for MTD acceptance.

Without your voice, your next project’s stormwater management options will be limited. Please fill out the form if you agree with the statement above.  A copy of this petition will be presented to MADEP to demonstrate to them that there is both broad support for and a current need to prioritize this issue.

Thank you for your support.
