Projects have many phases throughout their lifespan from the time of their initial conception until their completion. Over the course of the design, they may span months or even years with permitting, procurement, installation, and inspection work associated with the project. Great attention is paid to ensure that each facet of the project is carried out in an accurate, timely and cost-effective manner. Once final approval and payment is made, we often consider it “case closed” and move on to other work.
To understand the physical and biological processes in a high-rate biofiltration system, it’s necessary to look at how each system component contributes to pollutant removal and flow management. In this blog post, we will take a look at its components: mulch, engineered media, plants, stone and underdrain, and a containment structure.
