ClearCast Transparent Bridge Deck Forms Improve Speed and Safety

During the latest phase of construction at the highly congested Wichita North Junction, Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) aimed to enhance traffic flow and safety through major infrastructure improvements. Because of the significant traffic impacts and the fact that five of the eleven new bridges span rail yards, mainlines and spur tracks, KDOT specified ClearCast™ Transparent Bridge Deck Forms to safely speed construction and save time in the schedule. KDOT does not typically allow stay-in-place forms due to the inability to inspect the underside of the deck but made an exception for ClearCast, a transparent stay-in-place form allowing for visibility during and after the deck pour.

Ensuring Joint Integrity in Large-Diameter Sewer Systems

As America’s infrastructure expands, the demand for reliable sewer systems is growing rapidly—industry forecasts suggest over 700 million linear feet of sewer pipe installations by 2026.

For larger-diameter systems (say 30 inches and up), ensuring the integrity of pipe joints becomes both more important and more challenging. In sewer design, the term “watertight” is often used, but per industry standards "watertight" really means meeting a defined leakage rate under pressure—not zero leakage everywhere.
