During an expansion project at the Yellowstone Valley Lodge, the resort added a barn and an underground wine cave in order to improve the venue for weddings and other events. A CON/SPAN® B-Series Bridge System was selected as the best vault solution to meet the wine cave's requirements.
The construction of Registry on Grass Lake, a new apartment complex, required an innovative stormwater management solution. This included the installation of a perforated corrugated metal pipe (CMP) for runoff storage and a ChamberMaxx system to compensate for the volume lost due to construction within the floodplain.
During an expansion project at Frito-Lay, a stormwater management system consisting of an ULTRA FLO® ALT2 spiral rib pipe system and a Cascade Separator® proved to be an efficient and cost effective solution.
Optimizing Wastewater Management with Large Diameter Pipes
We recently held our third and final national pipe webinar for 2024 focused on large and small diameter solutions for sanitary sewer and combined sewer overflow. If you haven't had a chance to see it, I encourage you to check it out! In the meantime, I'd like to highlight some of the benefits of the large diameter pipe solutions in the paragraphs below.
Hydrodynamic Separators (HDS) have been a staple in stormwater management for over 20 years. These systems are effective at removing Total Suspended Solids (TSS), hydrocarbons, trash, and debris from stormwater runoff. HDS units are often used as standalone treatment solutions or as pretreatment before filtration, detention, infiltration, or rainwater harvesting systems. With their varied applications, HDS units come in a wide range of sizing options.
Developing a performance specification for a steel pedestrian bridge is commonly used by specifiers because it allows them to identify the required performance features of the structure while deferring the actual bridge structural design to the bridge manufacturer. It also allows the bridge manufacturer to efficiently design and fabricate a bridge that meets the project needs and specifications while maximizing the efficiencies of their manufacturing equipment and capabilities.
How Living Materials Can Shape the Future Built Environment
To meet global climate targets, researchers are exploring ways to make cement production carbon neutral — even carbon negative — with living materials. Wil Srubar, principal investigator at Living Materials Lab & Deming Associate Dean of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at University of Colorado Boulder, discusses how living materials in cement and concrete can impact the future built environment.
As urbanization intensifies and sustainability becomes paramount, stormwater management practices must evolve to meet these new demands. This one-hour webinar delves into the advancements in high-rate biofiltration, a solution that addresses these challenges head-on. Journey from the pioneering "tree box filters" to today’s high-efficiency systems through compelling case studies that showcase real-world applications and successes.
