The Morningside Neighborhood had been grappling with persistent flooding, particularly in low-lying and landlocked areas. As a solution to safely manage and store the floodwater, DuroMaxx® steel reinforced polyethylene (SRPE) was installed as a robust drainage solution.
When an undersized bridge over Floodwood Creek deteriorated beyond its life expectancy, it was replaced with a Big R Bridge® Modular Rolled Girder. The Big R structure was selected for its ability to handle heavy traffic and HL-93 loads.
The new Loma Point Logistics Center warehouse required a dedicated stormwater management system to avoid overloading the downstream public network. The final design featured an underground detention system constructed with corrugated metal pipe (CMP), supported by two CDS® hydrodynamic separators and three Modular Wetlands® Linear bioretention systems.
Six Design Considerations When Rehabilitating an Existing Pipe
America’s Wastewater Infrastructure is currently rated at a D+, according to the 2025 ASCE Report Card for America’s Infrastructure. The Wastewater category includes both piping for the collection systems and the wastewater treatment plants the piping leads to. The collection system alone experiences 3.3 failures per 100 miles of pipe every year, putting pressure on maintenance teams to identify suspect pipes for either complete replacement or pipeline rehabilitation. This article will focus on the design and construction considerations necessary when a pipeline owner determines they will be rehabilitating an existing pipe.
Choosing the Right CMP Material: A Guide to Service Life and Site Fit
When it comes to underground stormwater systems, longevity depends heavily on material selection. While all corrugated metal pipe (CMP) systems offer structural integrity, the right coating ensures they perform for decades in the specific environmental conditions of your site. This article breaks down the main CMP coating types, their performance in different soil and water conditions, and when to use each.
This informative webinar will introduce you to high-performance systems—like DuroMaxx® SRPE, ULTRA FLO® and A-2000™—that combine hydraulic efficiency, long-term durability and cost-effective design. Whether you're grappling with tight project timelines or navigating complex urban drainage needs, this session will provide valuable insights and practical strategies for building smarter, stronger storm sewer systems.
