Modular Wetlands Linear Bioretention Systems Treat Stormwater
The management of stormwater discharges at the master-planned 100 West community was crucial, given that the city's potable water is sourced from an aquifer beneath the area. To meet regulatory mandates, Modular Wetlands Linear Biofiltration Systems were utilized due to their compliance with TAPE approval and their compact footprint.
When the original, single lane bridge was unable to handle large storm events without overtopping, it was deemed functionally obsolete and replaced with a CON/SPAN® B-Series Bridge System, EXPRESS® Foundations and ArmorFlex® Class 40 Mats.
During the construction of a residential development, Fairfield Farms, an aluminized type 2 (ALT2) ULTRA FLO® storm sewer system was needed to accommodate the anticipated sheet flow.
Innovative Solution for High Integrity Containment
The disruptions caused by material shortages during the COVID-19 pandemic prompted specifiers and construction contractors to explore alternative materials for various applications. Materials like fiberglass reinforced polymer (FRP) pipe, cast in place concrete, and precast tanks, typically used for containment, are facing extended lead times. Amidst this challenge, DuroMaxx® SRPE emerges as an important solution for containment needs, offering cost-effectiveness and mitigating schedule impacts caused by supply shortages in the market for FRP, CIP, and precast concrete containment tanks.
Hydrodynamic separatorsare primarily designed to treat stormwater runoff by removing pollutants such as sediment, debris, oil, and grease. They are typically installed to improve water quality before it enters receiving bodies such as rivers, lakes, oceans, or groundwater systems. Requirements are simple: the inlet and outlet pipes are sized in accordance with the flow, the hydrodynamic separator is sized in accordance with the pollutant removal, and water is allowed to flow freely from the inlet to the outlet of the system. But what happens when tailwater conditions obstruct the flow?
Are you a civil engineer looking to enhance your understanding of Hydrodynamic Separators (HDS) and their pivotal role in safeguarding our waterways? Look no further! We are thrilled to invite you to our upcoming webinar where we'll delve into "Everything a Civil Engineer Needs to Know About Hydrodynamic Separators." In this session, we'll address the most pressing queries surrounding HDS systems, providing insights into their functionality and optimal design.
