Construction of the new United Airlines®Terminal C North project at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) resulted in the need for a stormwater treatment system capable of meeting the City of Houston's stormwater quality regulations. Three CDS hydrodynamic separator units were selected as the best and most economical solution. The CDS units use swirl concentration and continuous deflective separation to screen, separate and trap trash, debris, sediment, and hydrocarbons from stormwater runoff.
When major flooding destroyed the original footbridge providing pedestrians access over Elk River to Baker's Island, the best replacement solution was an EXPRESS® Continental Pedestrian Bridge for its quality, low maintenance, and ability to meet the extremely tight deadline.
Mari Vineyards created the first Northern Michigan winery with an extensive underground barrel aging area by utilizing the CON/SPAN® B-Series® Vault System. With depths ranging from 10-25 feet below ground, the system provided a cave-like atmosphere with temperatures perfect for wine storage.
Before construction of the Peachtree Station Shopping Center commenced, the capacity of the existing sewer system needed to be improved. A DuroMaxx® steel reinforced (SRPE) tank was installed as the best option to store the overflow during rainfall events.
Using Corrugated Steel for Reclaim Tunnel Applications
A reclaim tunnel refers to a buried conduit that encloses a material conveyor. The conduit is used to transport aggregate, sand, coal or other minerals from a central stock pile to an off loading location. Of the four types of conduits available, corrugated steel structures are the most cost effective because corrugated steel structures have the most efficient design for high fill applications.
Seeing the Forest and the Trees in Stormwater Treatment System Monitoring Data
Whether looking at an individual test of a single treatment system or a database with hundreds of results, it is important to focus not only what the data tells us, but also what stories we may be missing.
