In order to reduce traffic congestion and improve regional mobility, Orange County initiated their largest infrastructure project ever by widening La Pata Avenue by 1.8 miles and extending it 2 miles. Construction also included five BridgeCor® Structural Plate bridges, a Filterra® bioretention system, and a Slotted Drain™ corrugated steel pipe (CSP) system.
Prairie Business Park needed a subsurface drainage system to accommodate the increase in surface runoff from the new, large paved area. ALT2 Slotted Drain™ and ULTRA FLO® were selected as the best solutions to handle the increased runoff.
When the City of Alma initiated a project to restore and protect an 180-acre parcel of Pine River and its wetlands, ArmorFlex® Class 50-S articulating concrete block mats were installed to stabilize and protect the banks of Pine River.
Many times, engineers use relatively simple methods or calculations to provide consistently accurate solutions to everyday problems. But, what happens when the problem becomes too complex? With the aid of computers, a finite element analysis (FEA) can be used to solve more complex situations.
