The City of Garland improved Shiloh Road from IH-635 to Kingsley by widening the four-lane divided thoroughfare to six lanes which required five intersections, landscaping, pavement markings, and storm sewer pipe. Ultimately, ULTRA FLO was selected as the best pipe option for its light weight, the strength of its polymer-coating, and the cost savings over other storm drain pipes.
After the original stream crossing structure was washed out during an extreme flash flood event, a Design-Build team decided that a CON/SPAN® O-Series® Bridge System would be the best emergency solution to address the key project requirements.
During an expansion project at the Pat Milliken Ford Dealership, Aluminized Steel Type 2 and a Vortechs hydrodynamic separator were selected as the best combination to achieve stormwater management goals at this growing facility.
How Do You Evaluate Damaged Areas Within Corrugated Metal Pipes?
Having been in this industry for several years, I am often asked questions about the pipe installation process as well as a pipe's condition post-installation. I thought I would take the opportunity here to address issues regarding damage to corrugated metal pipes (CMP) that occasionally occurs during or after field installations.
When to Use DuroMaxx Steel Reinforced Polyethylene for Stormwater Detention Systems
Corrugated Metal Pipe (CMP) is the material of choice for underground stormwater detention and infiltration projects. However, there are a few instances where alternate pipe materials, such as DuroMaxx Steel Reinforced Polyethylene (SRPE) may be a better solution. The two most common scenarios is on sites where watertight storage is needed and sites with corrosive soils.
